HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

The Croton Democratic Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month and is open to all Democrats. Meetings are generally held at the Croton Free Library, but that can vary so check with chair@crotondems.org to confirm.

If you wish to participate in discussions that go on between meetings, you can get on the email list by contacting us at dems@crotondems.org.

The members of the Committee are the district leaders. There are two district leaders for each of the 8 Croton electoral districts, and there are often openings for new district leaders. If you think being a district leader might be a congenial way to participate, we invite you to come to a meeting, see what is going on, and then make a decision.

During campaign season there are many ways you can help:

  • Make phone calls
  • Display a yard sign
  • Talk to your neighbors
  • Hold a candidate coffee
  • Distribute literature
  • Help with mailings
  • Design graphics and ads
  • Make a contribution
  • and More

The main fund raising event for each campaign season is the marvelous Democratic Soup Supper. It is held every year on a Sunday afternoon in late February or early March. It is a family event, the cost is moderate, and children are free.

The soups and desserts are homemade, so cooks and bakers are always needed. There are decorations to be arranged, soups to be served, and of course clean-up afterward, and the comaraderie is a great reward for those who volunteer to help. To become part of the soup supper team, just contact Laura Seitz at soup@crotondems.org

You may have many more ideas about what the Croton Dems should do. Your ideas are very welcome. Just let us know what you want to do and what you think we should be doing.
