ALL VOTING WILL TAKE PLACE DOWNSTAIRS IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING

For National, State, County, and Town Elections you can find your polling place and district using this tool on the Westchester County website:

Note – Street Addresses need to be typed according to post office rules for abbreviations. For example, Park Trail needed to be typed in as Park Trl. Tr and Trail did not work.

For a Village Election, all voters vote at the Municipal Building. However, you can locate your Precinct (District) number from this search. It will appear under the voting place as, for example: (Precinct 20008). Precinct 20008 translates to District 8.

How to Vote by Absentee Ballot

New York limits absentee voting to those who are unable to vote in person on election day. This may be:
– Due to Military Service
– Due to Duties, Occupation, Business, Studies or Vacation
– Due to Illness or Physical Disability
– Due to Permanent Illness or Permanent Disabiity

Voting by absentee ballot in a Village election is a simple two-step process:

Step 1. Get, fill out, and submit an application for absentee ballot

Step 2. Receive ballot in the mail and vote

Applications are available:
– From the Croton Village office: 271-4781
– Download here: Absentee Voting Application

For more information contact our Village Clerk, Pauline DiSanto at 271-4848.

On-site absentee voting at the Village Clerk’s office is also possible before election day.

Applications must be completed and received by the Village Clerk no earlier than 4 months and not later than the 7th day before the election.

Ballots must be received by the Village Clerk in the mail no later than one day before the election. An absentee ballot may also be hand-delivered to the polling place by a third party on the day of the election.

Note: If you request an absentee ballot and then discover you can vote in person and wish to do so, simply advise the polling inspector for your district at polling place. Your in-person vote will be counted and your absentee vote will not. Absentee ballots are secret, but an outside envelope identifies the voter for verification purposes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Permanently ill or disabled voters can receive an Absentee Ballot for every election automatically upon application. This includes school and village elections. Details are available from the County Board of Elections at 995-5285.

If you need a ride to the polls, please call 271-5301 or 271-8968
